When Your Roof Can't Wait

A roof emergency doesn't wait for Monday morning. Whether it's storm damage at 2am, a sudden leak during heavy rain, or tiles blown off by high winds, you need someone who responds immediately and knows exactly what to do.

At Ikon Roofing, we provide emergency response across Kent, Medway, and South East London. Our aim is to have your property temporarily weatherproofed within 24–48 hours of your call, with a permanent repair scheduled as soon as materials and conditions allow.

What Counts as a Roof Emergency?

If water is actively entering your property, or your roof covering has been compromised to the point where it will let water in during the next rainfall, that's an emergency. Common situations we respond to include storm damage with missing or displaced tiles and slates, fallen trees or debris impacting the roof structure, active leaks causing internal water damage, blown-off ridge tiles or hip tiles, flat roof membrane failures during heavy rain, and lead flashing that's been lifted by wind.

Our Emergency Response Process

When you call us with an emergency, here's exactly what happens. First, we take your details and assess the urgency over the phone — we'll ask what's happened, whether water is actively coming in, and get your location. If it's an active ingress situation, we prioritise you.

We'll attend site as quickly as possible — typically within 24 hours — to assess the damage and carry out temporary weatherproofing. This might involve tarpaulins, temporary felt, emergency lead dressing, or mechanical fixing of displaced coverings. The goal is to stop the water and protect your property while we plan the permanent repair.

Once the temporary fix is in place, we'll survey the full extent of the damage, provide photos, and give you a detailed quote for the permanent repair. If the damage is covered by your home insurance, our photos and report can support your claim.

Storm Damage & Insurance Claims

If your roof has been damaged by a storm, your buildings insurance may cover the repair. We provide full photographic documentation and a detailed written report that you can submit to your insurer. We're happy to liaise directly with your insurance company if needed, and we won't start permanent repair work until you've had your claim acknowledged.

What It Costs

Emergency call-out fees depend on the time of day and the work required. Temporary weatherproofing typically costs between £150 and £500 depending on the extent of the damage and access requirements. We'll always confirm the cost before starting any work — no surprises.

The permanent repair is quoted separately with a full itemised breakdown, exactly like any other Ikon project. Every permanent repair comes with our full IKON Integrity Guarantee.

Prevention Is Cheaper Than Emergency

Most roof emergencies are preventable. Regular maintenance and timely roof repairs catch problems before they become crises. Read our guide on signs your roof needs replacing to identify issues early. If your chimney, lead flashings, or guttering are showing signs of wear, address them before the next storm hits.

A £200 inspection and minor repair today can save a £2,000 emergency repair and internal damage next winter. If your roof is over 30 years old, has visible moss growth, cracked tiles, or deteriorating flashings, book a free inspection now — before the next storm does the job for you.
